A Big Announcement: Transformation Lab
Change your reality
Inertia. Absurdity. Frustration.
Three words to capture the weird reality of 2026. The hottest summer on record, again. The Epstein Files disappearing, again, this time into the Strait of Hormuz. A new UK prime minister, again, while Keir Starmer posts cringy goodbye memes on TikTok.
The world we knew is already gone and we’re living in its dust. It’s time to step into a new reality.
I founded Kainos to discover and platform true novelty: new cultural ideas, new systems, new paradigms. I was inspired by three words.
Imagination. Aliveness. Transformation.
The last word most of all. I feel intensely that collective transformation is possible. I’ve experienced and witnessed so much individual transformation that it’s hard not to. Moments of rapture that change our lives. Encounters and revelations that unlock the courage we need to become who we truly are. Strange coincidences that reveal a beautiful potential in the inertia, the absurdity, and the frustration.
But I’ve realised, while looking for those same seeds of transformation in the world around me, that I set out on a foolish quest.
Transformation isn’t something ‘out there’ we can discover. There’s no Holy Grail that will heal our social malaise, or regrow our shattered forests.
Real change isn’t something we discover: it’s something we create.
We invite it in our lives every time we act from our deepest truth. Maybe that’s why so many of us seek out self-actualisation. We go on retreats, do courses, listen to educational podcasts. We come back to our lives full of energy, but the old systems are still there. Our social contracts, relational tangles, and brutal economies stay alive and well.
Then, frustration. Why doesn’t the world change when we do?
Maybe it can.
I’m proud to announce the next major Kainos initiative: Transformation Lab.
A six-month journey, in which everyone commits to transforming one essential aspect of their lives, the world, or both. A container of accountability, inspiration and learning that will give you what you need to change your reality, alongside like-minded voyagers. That’s just the beginning, but more on that soon.
Change Your Reality
You might join because you want to start a new project, or transform an organisation. You might decide to focus on changing the limiting beliefs that hold you back from your full potential. You might have no idea what you want to change, but feel a longing for something new.
The journey is supported by the most impressive and varied faculty I’ve ever assembled. Leading wisdom teachers, business leaders, AI experts, community builders and a death doula.
Our Founding Faculty covers nine initial spheres of transformation: Inner Growth, Confidence, Relationships, Creativity, Sensemaking, Ethical Business, Technology, Systems Change and The Sacred.
We’re combining practical skills like public speaking and negotiation with practices like breathwork, Complexity Tolerance and Somatic Inquiry. For the first time, we’ll be bringing in new faculty based on what skills gaps participants identify as they start transforming their chosen area.
For everyone to have the best experience, we’re keeping this cohort fairly small. To secure a place with a deposit today, visit the course page here.
An Anti-Retreat
If our documentary Leviathan was about diagnosing the deep code of the metacrisis, Transformation Lab is the next step: creating and enacting solutions in your reality, and in our collective reality.
The process begins on October 15, 2026 and ends on April 15, 2027 with one session a week of two hours (at a time that works for Europe, the US and Australia). The first six weeks are focused on identifying or sharpening your focus. After that, we’ll form small working groups of people focused on similar areas.
You might find yourself in a working group of five others trying to start an ethical business. Or, with others on a journey of inner growth and transformation. Alternatively, you may be part of a group focused on shifting organisations, or local politics, or building community projects.
Our whole-cohort sessions will happen every other week, facilitated by me, and often alongside a member of the faculty. Every participant will also have the option to have a one-to-one guided breathwork session every month. You’ll also have an opportunity to work with an ever-growing list of facilitators, coaches and experts in different domains, for example vibe coding and public speaking.
This isn’t an online retreat. When we ‘retreat’, we take a break from our lives, work on ourselves, and then go back to the status quo with our new perspectives and skills. There’s nothing wrong with that, but Transformation Lab is different.
This is about making your life your lab; taking inspiration from the experience you have each week, and then applying it directly. It’s about finding and acting on what actually works to shift what you want to shift.
Then, we’re going to go further.
Change Our Reality
Transformation Lab isn’t just about your own personal journey, or even the journey of the group. We are working with academics, including Prof. Dr. Jessica Böhme, to use the Lab to conduct research into cultural transformation.
We want to discover what actually works when it comes to changing the world around us. What’s the relationship between inner and outer change? Is there a ‘hidden code’ of transformation we can apply across different domains? If there is, I want to open-source it to groups, organisations or even whole cultures.
Participants can choose to contribute to this research in the form of surveys and short interviews about their experience. Once the Lab is complete, we will publish our research so that others can learn from and add to it.
I want what we do in the Lab to ripple outward. We’ll be creating open-source artefacts - academic papers, articles, stories, art - that will help people around the world learn and iterate from what we do together so that we can contribute to changing our collective story.
How exactly that will look will also be up to you if you join. You can read more about the process and our faculty on our website. As always, we’re offering a limited number of scholarship places, and also talking to change-making organisations to sponsor participants whose journey might align to their mission.
As lead facilitator, my area of focus is going to be the Transformation Lab itself. Creating a container of the highest quality, integrity and intention. A new paradigm of personal development that also develops the world. Inner work committed unapologetically to action and accountability.
Transformation Lab will ask you, again and again, to bring your full self to the world. Without hesitation, and without apology. It will teach you how to act from that place, and give you the skills, practices and frameworks you need to bring your full gifts to a world that needs them.
Not tomorrow.
Not next week.
Now.
