What a fabulous conversation. There's a real quality of maturity in the way you hold these matters, as if Western civilisation (which has now become global culture) is finally emerging from a very very long adolescence.

I think someone did a study on this - asking how old they think society would be if it were a person - and the answers were somewhere in the range of 14... am trying to remember where I read it though!
Its Beautiful...I feel your spiritual backgrounds seeping through all you say. When we ask ourselves to the live the paradox of Oneness without being actusllt established in that state... the state if sage, it is a life-practice-struggle only with our own ignorance and to unfold that at each turn.

I first came across it in "Nature and Madness" by Paul Shepard, written in 1982... but it's more obvious now than it was then!
